Updated: 4 days ago

While some may view it as overly hyped, many people are drawn to the charming artwork featured on the cards.

Scarlet Violet Destined Rivals

Destined Rivals has generated immense excitement among Pokémon TCG fans since its announcement, largely due to the much-anticipated return of Team Rocket and the intriguing trainer and Pokémon combinations that are prominent in the later stages of the Scarlet & Violet era. The standout card in this set is Team Rocket's Mewtwo, which has become the ultimate chase card, driving collectors to seek out products fervently. Despite the challenges of securing quality items, the enduring appeal of this set suggests it will retain its value over time, making it a worthwhile investment for enthusiasts.

Destined Rivals introduces an exciting collection of over 240 new cards, bringing together a lively cast of troublemakers alongside fan-favorite characters. This expansion showcases an impressive 42 special illustration cards, with partner cards taking center stage. Highlights include notable pairings such as Ethan with Ho-Oh and Cynthia with Garchomp. Team Rocket makes a strong appearance as well, featuring familiar faces like Archer and Ariana, along with Giovanni, who is depicted with both Meowth and the highly coveted Mewtwo card, which is a must-have for collectors.

Ethan's Ho-Oh ex (230/182) has seen a significant surge in value, jumping from its original price of $70 Dollars to recently selling for $180 Dollars. That more than double the price ! This card is just one example from the set that has appreciated in price, showcasing the powerful impact of nostalgia on collectors. Now, I'm eagerly anticipating the release of the full art featuring the three sisters from Cerulean City; it really needs to happen!
